What is m. r. radha?

M.R. Radha (Madras Rajagopala Radhakrishnan Naidu) was an Indian actor and politician, born on 14th April 1907 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He started his acting career in the late 1920s, primarily in stage plays and went on to perform in over 200 films in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada languages. He is known for his roles as a villain in many movies and was popularly known as Nadigavel.

M.R. Radha was also one of the co-founders of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) political party. He was declared insane due to his controversial actions on 12th September 1967. Later, he shot his personal manager R.M. Veerappan in his leg and the next day in his chest, which caused the death of Veerappan.

He was arrested and convicted for the murder of Veerappan and was imprisoned for life in the Central Prison, Madras. He died on 17th September 1979 due to natural causes while he was serving the jail term.
